Student Body is built to connect you with the people you want to move with — not to harvest your attention or your data. Here's exactly how we handle both.
How we're built
Not a social network.
Our focus is connecting you with the people you want to move with — in the real world, not on a screen. So there are things we will never do:
- Monetize your attention or engineer engagement.
- Sell your data.
- Run on advertising.
- Rank or hide classes with opaque algorithms — you can always see why you're seeing something.
We'd rather you close the app and go to class. The best thing we can do is get you into the room, then get out of the way.
Your data is yours
What you control.
Clear consent
You choose what you share at sign-up, and you can change it any time. Contact details move only where you've given permission.
Marketing you can switch off
Opt out of marketing whenever you like — it never touches your classes or your account.
Export & deletion
Export your data, or request full account deletion. Sensitive data is encrypted at rest.
Never sold
We never sell your information, and we never share it for advertising.
Visible only in aggregate.
When you share when you'd like to train, instructors only ever see it as an aggregate of five or more students for a given day and time. Your individual availability is never visible to anyone.
Your preferences are only used to sort and filter what you see — they never hide classes from you completely. You stay in control of the whole catalog.
Your rights.
Under GDPR you can request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and portability of your personal data — and withdraw consent — at any time. Email hello@studentbody.pt and we'll help.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), Portugal's data protection authority.
